About Me

Hi, allow me to introduce myself. I am a Pastor with well over 20 years of experience in various ministries, including senior pastorship, associate pastorship, youth pastorship, worship pastorship, children's pastorship, PR and Media pastorship, and yes, even church janitor! I preached my first sermon when I was 14 years old, and was called into ministry that same year. Now, in my mid-forties, I enjoy being the senior pastor of my fifth church, located in the Great Southwest near where I grew up as a child. My wife and I are happily married, but we won't lie to you and say it's all been a bed of roses. But we overcame and we're are closer now than we were when we first said, "I do." After being told by several doctors that we would never have children, and several attempts to adopt, we were finally blessed with two, healthy and rambunctious boys of our own...each a genuine miracle from God! I consider myself a bit of an old-fashioned, Bible-believing, fire and brimstone, preacher who tries to live what he preaches and who shares the Word of God like I read it and understand it. As I have often told people, "If you have a problem with what I preach, take it up with the One who wrote the book!" While I enjoy the Pentecostal traditions I grew up with, I also have a certain appreciation for some of the newer methods seen in more "modern" and "contemporary" churches. I think it's possible to blend both methods together for a richer, and more stable spiritual experience! As a self-professed "Country-fried" Southern boy, I tend to be down-home and earthy...more comfortable around a kitchen table with biscuits and gravy than at a five-star bistro, but I am far from a simpleton or "red neck". I believe the Bible. I believe what it says, and with little outside influence, I accept it at face value. I do not rearrange its truth to suit my needs, nor do I "read into" its passages to fill out my doctrine. If God's word says then that settles it. So I better believe it!
